Abeer graduated in 2002 from the Higher College of Technology with a Higher Diploma in Nursing and began her career working with Zayed Military hospital for two years before moving to Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit as a Staff Nurse for 6 years. As the SEHA Ambulatory Clinics were being developed, Abeer was chosen to support as Assistant Nursing Director. Her roles involved improving outpatient nurses’ skills and developing specialized outpatient clinics. After 5 years, Abeer then moved to the Dialysis Units at SEHA and worked there for three years, which proved to be a challenging experience as she began to realize the urgent need for transplants in the UAE. Motivated to play an integral part in establishing the transplant landscape in the country, Abeer began her journey with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2015 and served as Executive Director in the Nursing Institute playing a fundamental role in the hospital’s Acute Care, Ambulatory, Royal and multiorgan transplant services programs. In 2023 Abeer joined Dubai Health as System Nursing Director/Acting Chief Nursing officer to ensure alignment with international standards of nursing care and establishment of policies, protocols and enhancing the professional development of the nursing work force to achieve those standards.
She completed a Doctoral Program in Case Western Reserve University’s in Cleveland, Ohio. Abeer is the first Emirati Nurse to graduate with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from US DNP and completed post doctorate nursing leadership fellowship program which is scholarship from Samuel H and Maria Miller foundation in US along with 11 executives nursing leaders from us and different countries and currently enrolled In Coldiron senior Nurse Executive Fellowship Program in addition she completed the Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Fellowship was created by the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy to enhance and expand the development of senior nurse executive leaders.
